 New York City is an amazing city full of a multitude of activities that are sure to keep you busy all summer. So whether you are a visitor to our fair city or having a long summer staycation, here are 33 Fun Things to to with kids this summer.

  1. Experience Harlem’s burgeoning scene at  Harlem Eats, an uptown food truck and street food market happening every Saturday from 11am-5pm on Fredrick Douglas Blvd. between 117th & 118th Street
  2. American Girl fans will love lunch (0r celebrating a birthday) at the American Girl Cafe on 5th Avenue
  3. Dinosaurs, Barbies, Legos statues and an indoor Ferris Wheel, all things you can find  at the Toys R Us Times Square.
  4. Enjoy a family friendly play at the New Victory Theater on Broadway
  5. See a real life rocket at the New York Hall of Science in Queens
  6. See some blue men at the iconic Blue Man Group show
  7. Wander the jungles  and see the Komodo dragons at the Bronx Zoo
  8. Stars, dinosaurs and whales all can be found at the city’s most popular museum, The American Museum of Natural History
  9. FREE technology and entertainment at the Sony Wonder Technology Lab
  10. Enjoy the Seal show at the New York Aquarium in Coney Island
  11. Take a stroll on The Highline Park Chelsea
  12. Take in a Broadway play (Mary Poppins, Cinderella  and Kinky Boots) just to name a few but of course some these depends on how old your kids are)
  13. Take a break and hang out at  the playgrounds that are located near major New York City attractions
  14. Nurture your child’s inner Picasso and visit Children’s Museum of Arts in Soho.
  15. Visit Lady Liberty and Ellis Island
  16. Enjoy a family oriented program at the grandest museum in the city the Metropolitan Museum of Art. There are programs for toddlers through teens.
  17. Free outdoor movies are available around the 5 boroughs (NYC Parks, Bryant Park,  Coney Island Flicks on the Beach and The Intrepid)
  18. Walk aboard an aircraft carrier and see The Concorde and The Space Shuttle  at the Intrepid Museum
  19. Take a day trip to the iconic Coney Island Boardwalk
  20. See all of New York City from the Empire State Building
  21. Treat the kids to heavenly treat at Jacques Torres chocolate
  22. See the king penguins  at the Central Park Zoo
  23. Ride the Bryant Park Le Carousel and if you head to Coney Island visit the beautifully restored B&B Carousel
  24. Have tea at Alice’s Tea Cup
  25. Sail around Manhattan on a private chartered boat specifically targeted for Kids
  26. Go old school and roller skate  at LeFrak Center at Lakeside, Brooklyn
  27. Get outdoors and go camping in one of the borough’s parks
  28. Be French for  a day and enjoy Bastille Day on 60th Street happening July 13 (and it’s free)
  29. Enjoy the view of Manhattan on your ferry ride to Governor’s Island and enjoy 30 new acres of park and dozens of arts, cultural and recreational programs. And there are several new gourmet food vendors to choose from including Sweet Chili, Mayhem and Stout, and more.
  30. Go kayaking on the Hudson River. You can kayak or  take lessons, or strike out on your own along the New York City Water Trail. And it’s FREE.
  31. Take a spin on the Cyclone, the  only wooden roller in the country
  32. Tennis fans can enjoy watching tennis up close and personal at one of the world’s premiere tennis events,  US Open
  33. Arthur Ashe Kid’s Day kicks off the 2014 US Open on Saturday, August 23rd with your favorite tennis stars & the latest musical sensation.
