On our most recent visit to Disney World, we stayed at the Walt Disney World Swan Resort which is conveniently located in between Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The hotel is super convenient for us because you can easily reach either of those parks by taking the Disney water taxi.
5 Reasons We Enjoyed Our Visit To The Walt Disney World Swan Resort
1. Disney, Disney, Disney
Staying at the Swan Hotel entitled us to many Disney benefits including MyMagic+ benefit, complimentary transportation to the Disney parks, extra magic hours and Disney FastPass+ which enables you to reserve up to 60 days in advance of your trip.
2. Outdoor Pools and Beaches
We loved the stunning grotto pool with the waterfall cascading over the rocky caves. Not only was the pool set amongst the resort’s lush tropical grounds, just watching the water cascade in front of me, was oh soo relaxing. And to make life convenient, you can order food and drinks near the pool.
The hotel also offers whirlpools, fountains and five different heated pools as well as their own beach. And for those with younger kids, there is a kiddie pool.
3. Outdoor Activities
You can rent an electric boat and enjoy a leisurely ride around Crescent Lake on a Chaise Lounger or enjoy more lively water fun with a Fun Boat. Want to play b-ball, there are courts for you to play on. My daughter spent a lot of time shooting hoops and perfecting her dribbling skills.
4. Location, Location, Location
The resort is ideally situated near the back entrance of Epcot which can be easily reached by boat or you can walk there in 15 minutes. This is perfect because we were able to run to Epcot, taking advantage of theearly park hours, got a few rides in and then run back to the hotel time for check out and off to the airport.
5. Our Room and View
We had a spacious room that featured the incredibly comfortable Heavenly Bed®. And yes they were heavenly to sleep in. We were also lucky enough to have a view of the Boardwalk and their sister hotel the Walt Disney Dolphin.
And I have to mention the Camp Dolphin Kid’s Program which is open from 5:30pm until midnight for children ages 4 through 12 years. At a cost $10 per child per hour, parents can enjoy dining alone at the hotel’s many restaurants (check with the hotel on the details but some of them offer 2 complimentary hours.) Camp Dolphin tons of fun activities to keep your kids busy and engaged while you get some private time.
I definitely recommend you consider staying at the Walt Disney World Swan Resort if you are visiting Walt Disney World and the Orlando area. The hotel has special offers throughout the year. There are also special rates if you are AAA members, teachers, nurses, military personnel and Starwood Preferred Guest® members. I am a Starwood American Express holder and coupled with my Starwood Preferred Guest memership, I pretty much paid close to nothing for our three night stay.
