It’s 2019 and I have been blogging since late 2008. Yikes, that is over 10 years of blogging. Blogging for me started off as a way to learn about social media which at the time was just Twitter and Facebook.
Instagram and Pinterest came later. And even both of those platforms I joined early but for different reasons. Instagram was just another social media platform that I posted pretty pictures and followed photographers just to look at pretty pictures. I didn’t care that anyone followed me or about the filters. I didn’t write tomes or use hashtags then one day it all changed where I was chasing likes and followers because Instagram influencers started getting paid. And people started posting pictures of their food (do you really care about some person’s meal?
Then there was Pinterest. I discovered Pinterest way before anyone else because I realized it was a way for me to save all those bookmarked pages that I found on the internet. And then one day that blew up and became a social media phenomenon with recipe and DIY influencers.
Good grief.
So I like many bloggers kept writing and building my social media presence. As you can imagine, that is a full time job. Well, I have a full-time job plus blogging makes it two full-time jobs.
Once I started working full-time, I keep blogging because of all many opportunities from Marvel Red Carpet premieres (Thor), Disney Red Carpet premieres (The Jungle Book), meeting celebrities to travel press junkets plus countless ambassadorships that came my way and it paid.
Meeting Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth!
Thor Dark World Premiere
Visiting Pixar Studios
Don’t get me wrong I still love being social media influencer and content creator but it has taken a toll on what do I really want to do with the blog.
With all that in mind, I am taking a break from posting for the rest of the Summer except for a few film screening reviews. I hope for you, my loyal followers, keep subscribed as I will be back in the Fall. And for everyone else, I will still be posting on Instagram and Twitter.

Whether you juggling two jobs or have a side hustle or a blogger with blogger burnout, would love to hear your tips on how to reenergize for my comeback? I need to do more than binge watch although I will be doing that anyway!

Your comment means a lot to me. I did not realize how much I needed a break to just decompress from having two jobs.

I’ve been thinking of doing the same thing. I work 50 hours per week on average at my day job, and blogging + social media has made things unmanageable. I wish you lots of rest! You deserve it.

Its hard to keep the blogging side with a day job. I have been doing for years and finally giving myself permission to take a blog vacation.

That sounds like a great plan. Everyone needs a break for rest and relaxation! I hope that you have a wonderful rest of your summer.
