When visiting Atlanta, no trip is complete without a visit to The Varsity – The World’s Largest Drive-in Restaurant. The Varsity has been around since We since 1928. So why visit The Varsity, for the experience of course of having someone come to your car and bring you your food which is very 1950’s right. You can go inside and eat but the wait is long and you will miss out on the experience.
The food is pretty yummy although if you are it’s probably not the healthiest of meals. The onion rings are to die for but the grease may shock your system, order them to share. The hamburgers cost $1.24, yes that’s right but they are about the size of slider. Not in the mood for a burger, have a grilled chicken sandwich which was quite tasty. The Varsity is known for its’ Frosted Orange and Chilli Dogs. Both were given two thumbs by my brother. The Frosted Orange is pretty thick so I recommend ordering 1 or 2 for your group to share especially the kids who will never finish it.
