The High Line Park is the mile long elevated park that has truly enhanced the area around the Meat Packing District and Chelsea. It is built on a historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan’s West Side that opened in 2009. Walking along the promenade offers amazing views of the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline.
Along the walk north, you will be able to see Chelsea Piers, The Frank Gehry designed IAC building, Nouvel Chelsea Residence as well as the Empire State Building. There is numerous seating along the promenade as well as perennial gardens designed by Piet Oudolf.
Enjoy the regular guided walking tours. You can even stargaze every Tuesday. The park even provides telescopes for visitors. Hungry, tons of pop up restaurants and sweets are available for you to try and enjoy .
