Union Square Park located in downtown New York is a hub of activity all during the year and especially during the warmer months. I love when the cherry blossoms open up, the park really comes alive and with the Empire State Building in the background, it makes for a stunning photo.
Just a bit about the park if you visit the city. Union Square Park was redesigned in 1872 by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux which has gone from being a former burial ground to bustling and on many occasions filled with characters that make New York City, New York. Whether you wander through the Green Market or stroll through the park filled with numerous statues including George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Mohandas Gandhi, and Marquis de Lafayette.
Of course, Union Square Park is also home to hipsters, the homeless, drug addicts (it used to major drug haven until the city cleaned it up), outdoor peddlers, skateboarders and every body else. It’s entertaining venue just to sit and do people watching.
