This is probably one of the most recognizable and iconic statues in the world. Who doesn’t remember Sylvester Stallone running up the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum. That moment has been immortalized in this statute commissioned by Stallone before Rocky III came out. The statue proved controversial in that some did not consider it “art” and that when it was placed at the top of the steps, brought in tourists who did not actually go into the museum.
Later the statue was placed at the bottom of the museum steps because it’s popularity. But many like my daughter still run up the steps ala Rocky. I chose not to run up the steps.

It’s funny, we have not watched any of the Rocky movies. Like many, I do recall the famous scene where Rocky runs up the stairs and it always motivated me to do the same thing, if given the opportunity. Of course, at 51 I may have more difficulty making it all the way to the top. lol Cool photo op & let that child of yours have fun running up the steps. It’s great exercise & not too many people can say they’ve followed in the footsteps of Rocky Balboa to the Philadelphia Art Museum or at least to the landing. lol
