Who isn’t a fan of these comedic genius of Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn? And now they are teamed up as mother and daughter in Snatched. Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn get more action than they bargained for in the mother of all comedies! After her boyfriend dumps her on the eve of their exotic vacation, impetuous dreamer Emily Middleton (Schumer) persuades her ultra-cautious mom, Linda (Hawn), to travel with her to paradise. When the trip takes an unexpected turn, the polar opposite mother/daughter duo realize they must settle their differences and work together to escape the outrageous jungle adventure they’ve fallen into.
The movie definitely plays to the strengths of both women in somewhat funny buddy movie. That said, I would have loved that they had a different storyline than the jungle kidnapping while they are on vacation that they made It just lends itself to too many racial stereotypes that frankly, it’s jut not funny. Not to say the movie is not worth watching, it is because they are so talented and they do play off each other very well, I just think I would have loved it Goldie Hawn played her mom in Trainwreck. I would be remiss it not mentioning that nontraditional casting of Randall Park as Schumer’s love interest who dumps her. How often does an Asian-American man get to play the boyfriend? Uh Not Often so kudos to Schumer!
