Recently, I enjoyed a live cooking event featuring MasterChef season 4 winner Luca Manfé along with one of my favorite bloggers, Vera Sweeney demonstrating how easy it is to cook with the Philips Airfryer. I will admit, I was pretty skeptical before the event began but since the event, I was able to test out the Philips Airfryer and wow, I was impressed with how easy it is to use and how quickly it is make meals.
The Philips Airfryer provides the healthy way to fry your favorite foods, giving you the taste you love without the guilt so that your food will contains less fat than if it was fried in the traditional way.
How does the Rapid Air Technology Work?
The Philips Airfryer’s unique Rapid Air technology uses fast circulating hot air and a grill element to allow you to fry a variety of foods with only 1⁄2 tbsp. of olive oil in a fast and easy way, producing delicious results.
Given that our mornings during the school week, are filled with a multitude of tasks, I thought making a breakfast frittata would be an easy test to see if I could lessen the craziness of our morning routine. Making the frittata was so easy. After pre-heating up the pan, I added some tomatoes and mushrooms to cook. Once the veggies were done, I added eggs and cheese, set the cook timer to 10 minutes and walked away. As you know making scrambled eggs requires you to stand at the stove until they are done. Can you imagine having not to do that and get 10 minutes back of your morning??? Priceless!!!
Breakfast Frittata
How delicious the frittata turned out and my daughter’s reaction was the true test. She loved it. And I realized that she could actually use the Philips AirFryer to make it herself with help at the end to pull the pan out (it’s really hot so adult supervision is a must.)
Check out the breakfast fritatta demonstration.
French Fries
But that’s not the only thing I tested. Philips Airfryer brags about using little to no oil to make yummy fries. Hah! I say and bring it on. I don’t know about you but fresh french fries means using lots of oil, and constant watching. No thank you and obviously not very healthy. But making French Fries with the Philips Airfryer was a snap and I used almost no oil. It took longer than the directions which I think may be the only bugaboo with the recipes times is that you have to experiment if you use more than the recommended amounts. The fries took longer than I expected only because I used more than the recipe called for and I had to mix them around to get them extra crispy. But now I know how much time I need. That all said, OMG, they were delicious and my resident food critic, my 11 year old was thrilled with the end result.
I can’t wait to test more recipes. My only recommendation for Philips is that I wish the cooking area was just larger.
