About Paddington 2 – While searching for the perfect present for his beloved Aunt Lucy’s hundredth birthday, Paddington sees a unique pop-up book in Mr. Gruber’s antique shop and embarks upon a series of odd jobs to buy it. Hilarity and adventure ensue when the book is stolen and Paddington and the Browns must unmask the thief.
Paddington 2 was the much-anticipated sequel to hugely popular Paddington and for good reason. Paddington 2 reunites many of the original film’s cast while welcoming those in new roles including stars Golden Globe nominee Hugh Bonneville (“Downton Abbey”), Oscar nominee Sally Hawkins (“Blue Jasmine”), three-time Golden Globe nominee Brendan Gleeson (“The Guard,” “Into the Storm,” “In Bruges”), Oscar nominee Julie Walters (“Billy Elliot,” “Educating Rita”), Oscar winner Jim Broadbent (“Iris”), and Oscar winner Peter Capaldi (short, “Franz Kafka’s It’s a Wonderful Life”) and Golden Globe and BAFTA Award winner Hugh Grant (“Four Weddings and a Funeral”).
Paddington 2 is the perfect family movie for fans of Paddington bear and those who have no familiarity of the famous English bear with his iconic red hat. The movies offers up a cute story, laughs and great characters. It goes without saying that Hugh Grant (one of my favorite English actors and star of numerous English romcoms) adds so much to the story playing the film’s villain Phoenix Buchanan. His name is Phoenix, how can he not be the villain and funny looking to steal the book from Paddington.
And moviegoers cannot help but love Paddington, a loveable, humorous and adorable bear. Whether you are four or a hundred and four, you will love this movie.
