Night School Starring Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish
Star Kevin Hart and producer Will Packer, who partnered for the hit Ride Along and Think Like a Man series, bring their signature style to Night School. Kevin Hart stars as Teddy Walker, a successful salesman whose life takes an unexpected turn and is forced to attend night school to get his GED. Teddy soon finds himself dealing with a group of misfit students, his former high school nemesis and a feisty teacher Carrie (Tiffany Haddish) who doesn’t think he’s too bright. Night School co-stars Rob Riggle, Taran Killam, and Romany Malco.
I don’t think that anyone would disagree that Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish are funny. Since her breakout performance in Girls Trip, Ms. Haddish has been killing it showing she can bring both on the big screen and the small screen having just won an Emmy for her hosting duties on Saturday Night Live.
What I appreciated it was it’s over the top performances by the entire cast. The scenes between Teddy (Kevin Hart) and Carrie (Tiffany Haddish) in which she tries to teach Teddy are not only unorthodox but pretty funny, lots of physical and over the top humor, I think you will appreciate. I definitely found the premise and cast pretty funny if not predictable but that’s okay. Who doesn’t like a good laugh? I definitely enjoyed this movie.
One of the things I would like to make note of is the emphasis on learning disabilities. I hope that parents of younger kids who see the movie and have kids who are struggling in school take notice.
Go for the laughs and the chemistry of the two leads! NIGHT SCHOOL – In Theaters Friday!
