Do you remember sleeper hit My Big Fat Greek Wedding starring Academy Award® nominee Nia Vardalos? I do. Well the long awaited sequel Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 returns with the entire cast of beloved characters of the Portokalos family in acomedy romp that is even bigger and Greeker than the original. I am sure you are like me, sequels, they are either the worst thing to happen or surpasses the original. Well, I am happy to say that I enjoyed Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 as much as I did the original.

1 Andrea Martin as Aunt Voula – Andrea Martin is a joy to watch in this iconic role and she brings her A game just as she did in the first Big Fat Greek Wedding. She is just so hilariously funny in every scene. And her look is just oh so perfect and noteworthy. Trust me, there are some quotable quotes you will be reciting long after the movie is over.

2. It’s funny – Nia Vardalos has really done the cast a great service with this script. There are just so many funny scenes. It’s rare that a move makes me laugh out loud but this one does. And if you are not laughing at the Portokalos family in all their wacky glory, there is something wrong with your funny bone.

3. Totally relatable – Yes, they are Greek but I think everyone can relate to this family. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have an Aunt Voula or has a relative who is politically incorrect. And for those of us with tween/teenagers can so relate to Toula’s relationship with her daughter Paris.

4. Spoilers – sometimes you think you can see the plot coming a mile away but there are couple that should come as big surprise.

Do I recommend My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2? YES!! Not only is it funny but offers a poignant and relevant family friendly movie for the entire family. Of course when I say family friendly, I mean that it’s for older tweens and above. There is one make out scene but nothing unseemly but hilarious. I think tweens will think it’s funny.
