McDonald’s restaurant is not in a our dinner repertoire while at home but as one knows they are ubiquitous and those darn happy meal with toys are so enticing to our kids. So to combat all gazillions of dollars on marketing, I concede that we will eat at McDonald’s on vacation.
A good compromise in my opinion.
While we were in St. Petersburg without a car, I might add, we walked about 3/4 of mile to the nearest McDonald’s for dinner and of course, my daughter had her delicious chicken nugget happy meal with toy (Rio are this week’s toy) and I had cheeseburger with large fries. And for the record, McDonald’s fries are the best in the world and that goes for expensive french bistros.

We’re the same way – on the road we end up going to places like McDonalds we would avoid at home.

Your right, it is hard (near imposable) to beat their fries. : )
Natalie says
Ahh McDonalds, why do you tempt us all with your delicious, golden fries?

And they’re hiring nation-wide. Hope you enjoyed the meal and the vacation.

I AGREE THEY HAVE THE BEST FRENCH FRIES – YUM!
Aleks says
100% with you on their best fries. They rock. I hadn’t eaten at a McDonald’s in probably 10 years and we stopped at one while on a road trip. Let’s just say it will probably be another 10 years before I do that!

My son loves McD’s too. His closet is full of those happy meal toys.

Oh yes, hands down, Mickey D’s fries are THE best in the world.
It was the same way for us growing up – McDonald’s only when we were traveling/on the road. Mmmm!!! Our parents always got us the fish sandwich and fries. So good!
I defintiely agree that McDonald’s can be a nice treat for kids, on special/rare occasions. And if you happen to find one with that cool outside plaground – SCORE!

Hey I have to come up with reasons why not to eat FF otherwise I could see falling off the wagon.

not trying to point fingers or judge anyone here – i love the fries too! =P – but mcdonalds is poison, for you and the planet and our future. that clown laughs behind your back every time you pay him to eat his tainted foods – not even foods – this is animal feed with a bit of sterility. you and your kids deserve better, and if WE ALL create a market for healthy, wholesome, ethically sound, sustainably harvested foods by refusing to support products like mcdonalds and mass-produced crapfoods then the corporations who control the markets will be forced to accommodate to these demands. WE, the consumer, control the demand, there is no excuse to have this engineered food shoved in our faces one day longer.. only through misinformation and apathy can these monstrosities go unchallenged. we all have a voice – speak up! you are what you eat! and thats what i have to say π please take it in kindest regards.
NYCSingleMom says
I so agree not to be judgmental because we know its not good for us but.. those fries…
Mitch says
What!
And I could have given you coupons for MCD’s before you left~!

i think that’s a great compromise… only eating there on vacation. their french fries ARE the best in the world. i have to admit, i really tried to stay away from fast food when i lived in the states but now that i’m an expat (in Thailand) there’s just something about McDonald’s that feels like “home” to me… as sad as that may sound. i eat there about once every month or two and the double cheeseburger meal tastes amazing.
