Lotus by Seoul-based artist Jaehyo Lee is a public art piece I happened upon in Union Square Park. One of the benefits to living in New York City is that you never know when you will discover art right before your eyes out in the open. I find that especially in the warmer months, most of the parks have some huge public art piece for park goers.
As you can see, the artist’s work is all wood and is huge stretching 12 feet. It is quite striking and hardly can be missed when you see in the distance.
Lotus is can be found at the southeastern triangle of Union Square and will be on display through October 2013.

Interesting statue. I don’t really like it, but I do agree it is fun to see new art work, whether I like them or not.

Interesting shots, definitely not something you would see everyday.
