Jessica Alba, actress, mom and entrepreneur launched The Honest Company along with Christopher Gavigan, the former CEO of Healthy Child Healthy World in early 2012. Over the past couple of years, I have had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Jessica regarding her movie projects but was thrilled that she was launching The Honest Company. Not only are the products safe, sustainable and eco-friendly but also beautifully designed for a new generation of parents. When I was asked to test out some of The Honest Company line of products, I was thrilled. While I try to integrate eco-friendly products into my life, I will honestly admit that I am lazy. I don’t read labels the way I should and I don’t do research products the way I should.
In my Family Essentials Bundle trial sample, I was able to experience Honest Shampoo & Body Wash, Honest Lotion, Honest Healing Balm, Honest Laundry Detergent, and Honest Hand Soap. With the exception of the healing balm (no babies in this household), I was more than happy with the other sample products. The Honest Shampoo & Body Wash did not leave a residue nor dried my skin which during the winter months is big deal. The Honest Lotion left my skin feeling moist and not greasy. I threw it my bag and was set. Testing out Honest Laundry was a joy and left my clothes smelling clean and fresh.
Obviously, buying eco-friendly and non -toxic products means a great deal to the health and well-being of my family and me but what I love about the line is how pleasing to the eye it is. What makes me feel empowered about The Honest Company is that you realize that being organic and natural does not mean the design of the products has to be generic and ugly. I may not be graphic designer but I like things to look nice and that includes the products in my home and The Honest Company has done that. Using their products means you can leave it out for the world to see because it’s so beautifully designed. And that is what I try to do when I do think green in my home, form, function and nice looking.

Something else I did not know about The Honest Company is that with every purchase you make, The Honest Company donates time, money, and product to their current charitable partner Baby2Baby.org. This worthy non-profit supplies families in need with essential baby gear and clothing for children up to age 12.
The Honest Company was started by a mom and a dad who, like many modern parents, were increasingly worried about products made with questionable chemical ingredients. But the alternatives they found were often expensive, inaccessible, bland, or ineffective. In response to this clear need for something better, they created The Honest Company to ensure that parents (or anyone for that matter!) could easily find natural and non-toxic eco-friendly products that are beautiful, effective, and affordable. From customized product bundles to diapers and wipes to an ever-expanding line of cleaning and personal care products, you can find everything you need at Honest.com and have it delivered directly to your front door.
