Grand Central Station celebrates it’s 100th birthday on February 2, 2013. It doesn’t surprise me that it’s ranked by Travel and Leisure as the world’s most visited attraction, given that it’s estimated that there are over 100 million people commuters. One of the key elements of the station is it’s 128 foot ceiling that you can view 2500 stars, many of them lit up and of course, you can view the constellations which were painted backwards by accident.
Grand Central not only boasts a Food Market, Shops, Restaurants and it’s very own Apple Store. It may be crazy but sometimes I like to stand on the steps and just watch the people racing for their trains.
I took these photos of Grand Central Terminal on different days and times completely by accident. Of course, it’s hard to miss the Met Life Building behind the terminal. For Non-New Yorkers, the Met Life Building used to be the Pan Am building when it was built which you can see movies prior to it officially becoming the Met Life Building in 1992.

Want to learn more, there are audio tours and an Apple app to provide more history and background of the terminal.

I prefer the pic of the Station at night. It may have something to do with the lights. I have visited New York a few times, but have never been to Grand Central Station. I hope to visit one day.

I grew up in Queens (now live in rural Pa), my visits to Grand Central station were all in the subway station. I am trying to remember if I have ever gone above ground while there. Would have to ask my mom.
Love seeing the difference between night and day.

I think I came into Grand Central Station the last time I was in NYC and it was a ZOO. I was totally overwhelmed LOL.
