Helping teenagers complete homework assignments and stay organized for school and after school
Nest offers a few features that can help teenagers complete homework assignments and stay more organized for school. Here are a few examples:
- School planning: My daughter uses the Nest Mini to plan her weekly schedule which frankly can be confusing.
- Set timely reminders for important tasks or deadlines. These simple reminders help my daughter learn lifelong skills around time management and productivity. This is so important because she is really bad at being organized or at remembering her assignments and deadlines.
- Study buddy: The Nest Mini can be used as a tutor or study buddy through the different features that the device offers, like Homework Helper and various trivia games. This is a going to help as she starts studying for the SAT in the fall (fingers crossed.)
- Meal and grocery planning: Now that my daughter is 17, she is responsible for planning and cooking one meal a week. She uses commands to prepare a grocery list for me to buy the ingredients for her dinner and then
- Looking up recipes: My daughter is able to find recipes and get step-by-step instructions on how to make it. Brilliant!
All in all, these are just some of the ways she uses the Google Nest Mini. Given her age, I am sure she will figure out other ways to use it. All music-related, I bet.
Worried about privacy and don’t want Google to listen to you when the Nest is not in use? Just turn the mic off when not in use! Just slide the switch on the side to turn the mic off. The lights will turn bright orange when the mic is off.
The Nest Mini is $49 but right now it’s $29.
Do you have a Nest Mini? What features do you like best?
Disclosure: NYC Single Mom received a Google Nest Mini to facilitate this review. Opinions are 100% my own.
