Fall for me brings back the cooler weather, the leaves turning colors and being able to entertain my friends. Everyone is back from camp or vacations. Throwing a get together with friends is a great way to relax, catch up and have some laughs. Sounds like a plan.
As much as I do like to cook for my dinner parties, I am always looking for ways to save time (and money) when I do entertain my friends. Seriously, the point is to bring everyone together and that includes me. The last thing I want to do is be in the kitchen while my guests are enjoying themselves.
There is a much easier way to entertain and that’s why my last trip to BJ’s Wholesale Club was a success. There were things I had planned on serving but when I wandered around, it hit me – why not pick up pre-made appetizers and meals?
More time for me and yummy meals for my guests.
My favorite offerings that BJ’s has to offer is their exclusive brands Wellsley Farms and Berkley Jensen. They offer the same great quality as the national brands at a deep discount. And with Wellsley Farms products, I am definitely not sacrificing taste.
Look at the following products that I took home for my Fall Party.
Bacon-Wrapped Scallops and Steak and Cheese Spring Rolls
By buying these two appetizers I saved myself a ton of time and money. 18 bacon wrapped scallops cost me only $15.99. I have made bacon wrapped scallops for dinner parties in the past and I will say that it was pretty costly and time-consuming to make. I just had to pop these in the oven for 16 minutes and voila delicious tasting pre-dinner appetizer.
And 24 steak and cheese spring rolls cost me a whopping $15.99. Both appetizers were a hit. On my next trip, I am going to pick up both just to be able to enjoy all the time.
Wellsley Farms Cheese Ravioli and Lobster Ravioli with Italian Marinara Sauce
Pasta is always a crowd pleaser. This was a treat for me to make because all I had to do was boil, serve and guests could top their pasta with either Wellsley Farms Pecorino Romano Cheese or Italian Marinara Sauce. This was so simple and the cost for both packages was $20. I included salad and fruit and my guests were stuffed. What was fantastic is that I ended up with one huge jar of marinara sauce for another meal. You get two bottles of marinara sauce for $7.99. That is such a great deal. And by the way, the teens loved, loved the cheese ravioli, even my picky daughter.
But the piece de resistance for me in organizing this super simple gathering was buying Berkley and Jensen Premium Designer Paper plates and Dining Cutlery. I have to say my guests were impressed with the cutlery. So much nicer than sad white plastic forks and knives that can barely hold a piece of lettuce. What’s best about picking up Berkley Jensen plates and cutlery, no more having to deal with a ton of clean up. No fuss no muss, as they say.

Wow, those prices are great. I will definitely have to make a trip to BJ’s soon. My father has been going there for decades, and it always results in a fully stocked pantry.

I love the no-fuss food you picked for your get together. You’ve definitely given me some ideas! I let my BJ’s membership expire a few years back and you’ve reminded me why I loved shopping there (prices and selection).
P.S. That cutlery is awesome!

Saving time and money is always helpful when planning dinner parties. These goodies would make it a lot simpler with time to mingle instead of working in the kitchen!

We don’t have a BJ’s over here in the UK but we do have whole sale outlets the same. I also like to try and save money, not only when entertaining but when cooking for our family of six. You have picked some great items here!

Fall is my favorite season of the year. I would love to host a party. The Bacon-Wrapped Scallops and Steak and Cheese Spring Rolls look amazing.

Pre-made appetizers is the best idea! Otherwise you’re stuck in the kitchen slaving away for hours and too tired when guests arrive. Instead all you need to do is pop delicious appetizers into the oven, serve them hot, and enjoy your time with your guests!

Love the low and affordable pricing of BJ’s. Unfortunately, we don’t have one on my area. However, the pre-made appetizers is a good idea. The idea is indeed to socialize with friends and not stuck in the kitchen cooking 🙂
