After 14 years, the long-awaited sequel to the popular Incredibles, INCREDIBLES 2 has hit the theaters along with a new short called “Bao.”
In Incredibles 2, Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is called on to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell), Dash (voice of Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack—whose superpowers are about to be discovered.
Their mission is derailed, however, when a new villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything. But the Parrs don’t shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) by their side. That’s what makes this family so Incredible.
Incredibles 2 offers fans new and old, lots of action and humor that moviegoers will love. I must be noted like most movies, there are always going to be standout cast members. Two stand out characters that I just think are fabulous are Edna and Jack Jack.
Edna is truly “fabulous” and even with her 5-minute appearance she is memorable, is it her look, her way of talking or her comments? So hard to say but I say, they need to create an Edna short, toute suite.
Then there is Jack Jack, the youngest Incredible. Jack Jack may be just a baby but he steals every scene he is in. Just a hint, we get to learn about his “super powers” and some of it hilarious.
Of course, I would be remiss if I left out Samuel L. Jackson returning as Lucius Best, the cool-as-ice hero Frozone and fellow superhero who fights alongside Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl. He brings his charm and cool persona that without a doubt adds some “color” to the movie.
Like many Disney Pixar movies, there is a short that opens before the main attraction and this time it is “Bao.” Read my review of Bao and it truly an added bonus that will “stick” with you.
INCREDIBLES 2 is in theatres everywhere.
