Lifestyle Expert Katie Brown is someone I have following for years so I was thrilled to meet her in person at an OxiClean event held at Colicchio and Sons. As I am completely disorganized all the time, I am always looking for organizing tips and certainly cleaning tips and hoped she would provide me some useful information.
Now, I have seen a gazillion OxiClean ads but how shall say this diplomatically but I have always been somewhat skeptical of their stain removal claims. 1. Label and Group Your Kids Things in An All Purpose Container:
Katie showed us the perfect basket/tote/storage bins called Space Age Totes from uline.com (they come in 6 colors and you get $6 for $66). You can label them for each child or put them in your mud room or I am planning to use them as a catch-all bin for my daughter’s things near the door.
2. Make Cleaning Supplies Accessible – Katie recommended keeping buckets in individual rooms but for us apartment dwellers, one bucket with all your tools is perfect. I loved that she literally had every little supply on her bucket which for me would save my all the time, I spend looking for some cleaning implement and never finding it.
3. Pre-Soak Stained Clothes Overnight – Yes, some of you may know this already but I am late to the game. I literally throw my clothes in and hope for the best.
