For Valentine’s Day this year, I have no idea why but I offered to make Valentine’s Day cupcakes for my daughter’s class . No biggie right, cupcakes are easy to make. Who knew I would have a bad work week, coming home late the entire week so that by Wednesday I was dead tired to deal with making cupcakes plus I had to redo a video. All I wanted to do make them by myself but my daughter was insisted in helping. No worries.
Needless to say, I thought that making cupcakes was my Valentine’s Day gift to her. WRONG!!!! My daughter was truly hurt this morning when she want to know why she didn’t get a card.
“Making cupcakes was my Valentine’s Day card and gift.” I tried to explain.
“But I helped and I made a card” my daughter said holding back the tears.
So to make up for my oversight, I went out and bought a card, a stuffed play to and Baked by Melissa cupcakes.
When my daughter arrived home from school, she saw all her Valentine’s Day gifts and started jumping up and down.
“Thank you, I am so happy.” my daughter said.
“No worries, I won’t forget again.” I said with total sincerity.
Have you ever forgotten a “holiday”? And what did your child say?

I can see how you two were not on the same page. Now you know that the holidays are on her radar and she’s ready for them.
