During my Disney/Pixar’s COCO Press Event, I had the opportunity to visit The Walt Disney Family Museum and enjoy “Deja View: The Art of Andreas Deja” exhibit featuring Andreas Deja, the Supervising Animator for “Scar” in THE LION KING in honor of the film that is now available on Digital & will be released on Blu-ray, 8/29
The Lion King has to be one of my favorite Disney movies. One of the best reasons to visit the The Walt Disney Family Museum is to really get the history of the not only Walt Disney, the history of how it all began and the movies but learn more about the people who truly bring the characters to the bring screen like Andreas Deja who was the Supervising Animator for “Scar” in The Lion King.
Andreas Deja has had quite the illustrious career since being accepted into the 1980 animation training program. Deja’s exhibit focuses on his accomplishments as one of the most versatile character animators at Disney.
Walking through the exhibit, I was able to view Deja’s original works on paper and sculptures of the menacing and iconic Disney villain Scar from The Lion King.

Along with bringing to life uber villain “Scar” from The Lion King, the exhibit showcases Deja’s additional Disney works including larger-than-life muscle man Hercules and the much beloved Mama Odie from the Princess and the Frog.

After visiting the ever changing exhibits, Walt Disney fans will love taking in all that The Walt Disney Family Museum has to offer – the remarkable story of Walt Disney, his inspirations, his innovative techniques and of course, all the fun artifacts that chronicle his life and work. And you will get to see the original vision of Disneyland.

Mortimer And Minerva Mouse were the names Walt Disney proposed first but it didn’t sound very good. #PixarCocoEvent #Waltagram pic.twitter.com/YtY4y1WcZf
