ARM & HAMMER Baking Soda Line of Products

Arm and Hammer is not just for your fridge. Like most people, I religiously place ARM &  HAMMER baking soda in my fridge and freezer to keep those icky smells at bay. Well, lo and behold, I have been missing out on a gazillion ways to use ARM & HAMMER baking soda around my apartment.

This is one of those a-ha moments which I am sure my loyal readers knew this before but why a product that costs about $1 a box (that’s New York prices) is the most affordable, safe and effective way to clean and freshen my apartment. Maybe it’s because it’s been around 165 years,  is not a cool, trendy or sexy product but the hell with that line of thinking. Any product that has many uses as ARM & HAMMER baking soda and costs a buck is sexy in my book.

At a recent event sponsored by ARM & HAMMER at the Crosby Street Hotel,  I learned that baking soda is a naturally-occurring substance found in all living things and comes from trona ore, found in ancient lake beds beneath midwestern high plain deserts. Who knew!

More importantly, I learned  5 new ways that I can now use ARM & HAMMER baking soda around my apartment.

  1. Freshen Carpets – Sprinkle it around the carpet and let sit for 15 minutes and vacuum.
  2. Removing Stubborn Stains – try soaking overnight in the ARM & HAMMER baking soda solution and detergent or scrubbing with ARM & HAMMER baking  on a clean damp sponge
  3. Create a Soothing Bath Soak – Add 1/2 cup of ARM & HAMMER baking soda to your bath for relaxing and refreshing soap.
  4. Wash fruits and vegetables – Sprinkle a little baking soda on a clean damp sponge, scrub and rinse.

Visit http://.armandhammer.com/ for more ideas on how to keep your house smelling fresh as well as learn more about  products like Dutch Boy Refresh paint (yes, paint) that offers ARM & HAMMER odor-reducing technology that reduces common household odors and new ARM & HAMMER Sensitive Skin Plus Skin Friendly Fresh scent laundry detergent.

And P.S. don’t forget to change that box of ARM & HAMMER baking soda in the fridge, your suppose to change it every 30 days.Whoops!
