Holiday season is in full swing and that means parties, parties and more parties. While holiday parties are filled with fun times, happy conversations and laughs with family and friends, there is a bit of a stress especially if you host an annual Christmas party like I do. It’s a big tadoo for me to throw my annual party because I do all the cooking myself from the appetizers to the main meal to the dessert. I just ask guests to bring bread, wine and soda for the kids. I actually like to escape to the one room in my home no one is going to bother me, the powder room – it’s the holidays, let call it a fancy name shall we! I am seriously not gone long but I just enjoy relaxing with no music or chatter. You are thinking “eww” but seriously, it’s like a spa bathroom in there. There is a scented candle, Christmas decorations and nice holiday hand towels.

While I love a good holiday party – I do have a bit of social anxiety. So – if I get overwhelmed – the ‘powder room’ is the best place to sit a moment, catch my breath and enjoy a moment of alone time!
