Philips Wake-Up Light With Sunrise Simulation Review

philips

Do you have a teenager that has difficult time waking up during the school year? Then try the Philips Wake-up Light. What makes the Philips Wake-Up Light stand out and helped my daughter rise and shine just a little easier  is that rather than an alarm or her mom (that’s me) screaming at her to to get up, the wake-up light slowly gets brighter 30 minutes prior to her 7:10 am wake up time. The light increasing is supposed to mimic a sunrise which frankly is less jarring that a sound or my turning a bright light over my daughter’s head. And there are pre-programmed nature sounds, such as Birds in the Forest and Zen Garden that turn on and which you hit the snooze button if you don’t immediately wake up. My daughter found the Birds noise somewhat annoying but the Zen Garden was too relaxing for her.

My daughter admits that it is a bit easier to wake up in the morning and she does feel a bit more energetic so I feel Philips Wake-up Light  has been a welcome part of our morning routine. Because we all know every teenager enjoys having their mom yell at them every morning.

One feature I liked that differentiates it from our current alarm clock is that the clock light adjusts to the room light so no more bright LED lights that can be jarring to see.

If you have trouble getting up in the morning or wake up groggy and less than enthusiastic to starting your day then try the Philips Wake-up Light as way to introduce a more natural way of waking up that will leave you feeling more effective and alert.

Disclosure: NYC Single Mom received a Philips Wake-up Light to facilitate this review.
