Families are in the throes of summer travel and the key to a successful trip is having the right tools and tips. Amy Tara Koch, a nationally recognized Travel & Lifestyle Journalist is providing NYC Single Mom readers helpful travel tips.
I had the pleasure of working with Amy, when I appeared on the Today Show. She is not only delightful, fun to work with but is a style expert, author, journalist and travel aficionado. She has appeared on TODAY, STEVE HARVEY, ACCESS HOLLYWOOD, FOX and the CBS EARLY SHOW but along with being a stylist she is a globetrotting mom.
In this exclusive video for NYC Single Mom, Amy provides travel tips for traveling internationally, including how to avoid telephone fees, useful apps, how to overcome jet lag and how to engage your children about learning about the countries you will visit:
Here are additional travel tips from Amy:
STEALS & DEALS: Look for airfare aggregation sites that allow you to set fare alerts to get cheapest price. Beat expensive hotel fees by looking for places where kids stay free or find apartments for rent by owners.
CHARGE IT: Take advantage of travel rewards credit cards to earn points that can be redeemed for airfare, hotels, and rental cars. Look for cards that let you redeem for less-obvious travel purchases such as amusement park admission or zoo and aquarium entry fees.
THERE’S AN APP FOR THAT: Look out for the many cost-cutting, time-saving, chaos reducing apps that are out there – they are all designed to make your travel experience smoother and cheaper.
