Dear Darling Daughter – A Memorable Birthday Wish

Dear Darling Daughter, thanks for an  unexpected wonderful birthday greeting.

“Happy Birthday Mommy!” my daughter announced when I woke her up at 5:30 am before I left for a meeting in Boston.

“Oh!” I responded somewhat taken aback.

“Did you forget your birthday?” she asked.

“I guess I did, go back to bed” thanking her and off I went to catch my flight.

So how is it that I forgot my birthday.  For as long as I can remember, I have always taken my birthday off from work and treated myself to “me” time. And since I became a mom,  I appreciated me time even more. I usually take the day and spend time relaxing and treating myself to spa treatments and a movie. Of course, I had planned on doing that this year but unfortunately work got in the way and I had to spend my birthday on a business trip to Boston.  Since I was so focused on the trip, I just completely forgot my birthday because I had nothing planned.

So I have to thank my darling daughter for her thoughtful birthday greeting, it was the better than any material gift I could have received.
