Civilized Travel at The Marine Air Terminal

June 11, 2013 by NYCSingleMom Filed Under: Travel

Recently, I flew up to Boson on the Delta Shuttle from LaGuardia’s  Marine Air Terminal.  The Marine Air Terminal also known as Terminal A at LaGuardia Airport is only used for the shuttle flights between New York and Boston or Washington, D.C. New York City. The terminal was the original airport terminal for international flights. Cool, right.

What makes the Marine Air Terminal special is the beautiful William Delano designed Art Deco building that houses the “airport” that is noticeable from the doors into the terminal.

As you walk into the rotunda, you can’t help but notice the mural, known as “Flight” because it that encompasses the room. The mural was depicts the history of flight through the ages.

The statue in the rotunda is of Fiorello LaGuardia, the mayor of New York from 1934 to 1945 and of course is the namesake of LaGuardia airport.

What makes flying the Delta Shuttle and using Marine Air Terminal are notable because of it’s downright efficiency, civility and the waiting area is nice. The security line takes at the most a few minutes to crank through because it’s a shuttle service so the flights leave every half an hour, everyone from the security to Delta staff is nice and the waiting area is filled with these plush leather chairs. I love it. And my favorite because it is filled with mostly business people, the people are better dressed and they know how to board a plane.

Happy NOT SO Wordless Wednesday.

I’m glad the company works for you. Everyone in Memphis despises Delta and refuses to fly since their stranglehold on the city goes along with high prices and lousy service. We basically have become a car traveling city. We travel to Little Rock or Nashville to fly anyone but Delta!

I had a really nice experience flying out of LaGuardia last summer despite the weather delay. http://poshonabudget.com/2013/06/ww-i-think-we-all-know-how-this-is-going-to-end-up.html
