KidzVuz Fashion TweenStas Event

Since my daughter has officially entered  the tween demographic, I was thrilled that KidzVuz Co-Founders, Rebecca Levey and Nancy Friedman hosted the first Fashion Tweenstas Event for tweens (and their moms.)

Along with the numerous cool brands, KidzVuz also showcased K.I.D.S – Kids in Distressed Situations an organization aimed at helping the victims of Superstorm Sandy.

Here are the highlights of the brands my daughter loved visiting at the event.

Children’s Place – The girls were able to pick one of the many mannequins and style them however they wished. Notice the silver metallic cap, just happens to be my daughter’s and is from Children’s Place, one of our favorite places to shop.

iScream – My daughter loved  all the pillows  on display. Seriously, who wouldn’t love an ice cream pillow? In addition, iScream  displayed a multitude of activity books (Fortune Tellers, Under the Sea, Fashion Journal, Bedtime Activity Book Doodle Fun, Free Spirit Graffiti Book), all developed to keep your active tween busy on holiday trips, in the car or just hanging out on the weekend. The BFF Book of Lists Activity Book kept my daughter busy during her Thanksgiving break. And the books range in price from $2.50 – $13.75.

Ubisoft Just Dance 4 – What is there to say about Just Dance 4,  the latest edition of the record-breaking franchise that includes chart-topping hits like Good Feeling by Flo Rida, Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen, Moves like Jagger by Maroon 5 plus 35+ more along with the coolest dance moves that was totally a hit with my daughter. What I personally love is that while there are the newer hits, Just Dance always introduces the younger generation to hits of yore like the B-52’s  Rock Lobster and Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up. Plus thanks to innovative new modes like the all-new Battle mode, an upgraded Just Sweat mode, it keeps the franchise fresh and still cool for tweens and teens alike. And while my daughter is pretty active, Just Dance really gets her movin’ and groovin. This is probably one of the few video games I love to pull out when she has play dates. I will admit that  she was totally obsessed at the event so much so that  I had to pull her away so she could visit the other brands.

Wish Factory ID – One Direction is the “It” boy band of the moment and Wish Factory is now selling ID key chains, dog tags, earrings, wristbands priced from $5 to $15. My daughter was drawn to the ID booth, of course who could resist having their picture taken with Liam and trying on their Wish Factory Pop On nails.

Microsoft Surface Tablet – My daughter was able  to test the new Surface Tablet from Microsoft which she loved and now wants for Christmas. Santa will have to say No for now.

Fashion Angels – My daughter may not have long hair but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t love putting Fashion Angels Hair Chox on her hair. Hair Chox is one of those easy and fun activities that any tween girl would enjoy, whether at a party or a sleepover or just an afternoon play date.  Fashion Angels also showcased  Tapefitti which my daughter loved, she spent some serious time making her cool looking  change purse. Tapefitt comes in an array of designs for tweens/teens to customize almost anything from notebooks, journals, water bottles to book bags. Craft fun for only $3.99

Sparklehearts is a brand whose natural, environmentally friendly and made in the USA attributes whizzed over my daughter’s head but for me was super important to know.

Glitter Tattoos – This might have been the last activity for my daughter but left a lasting impression. She loved her Knicks tattoo from Glitter Tattoos and she is completely keen on having them at her next birthday (we shall see.) Visit www.glittertattoony.com  for information on reserving them for your next event.

So while, the tweensters were enjoying their event, us moms were in the “Mom Lounge” sponsored by Audible.com. It was quite enjoyable to see my daughter enjoy herself while I chatted with the other moms as we sipped cocktails from boozecarriage.com, a New York City based beverage delivery service  and noshed on ymmies from Fairway supermarket. But it wasn’t all about drinking (okay, maybe it was), we also became a little more tech saavy courtesy of Susan Kantra from techlicious.com  and garnered some party planning tips from Amy Jacobs of Chandelier Events.

I certainly hope Rebecca and Nancy decide to throw another event same time next year.

Disclosure: NYC Single was not compensated for this post but my daughter received a swag bag full of teen goodies.
