Shopping, Eating and Drinking (and occasionally, a cultural event) – those are activities that New Yorkers enjoy.
One of my favorite places to rummage around is John Derian located down in the East Village. John Derian is famously known for making decoupage hip and since this is New York, not cheap but no matter, I love his stuff. My favorite gift that a friend bought me is a bird paperweight.
His store is great place to wander around and is truly inspirational for gift seekers. Derian sells everything from paper weights, to cake plates, to serving dishes to coasters to plates and platters all with designs that include flowers, insects, animals, and rustic scenes and so much more. Prices start at $25 for a coaster and go up and I mean up into the thousands.
Here were some that caught my eye but check out his site johnderian.com because in addition to decoupage, you can beautiful cards, placemats and furniture (not decoupaged by the way.)
I’m sharing my Sunday in the City along with Sundays in the City unknowmmami.com. Join the fun and let us know what you are doing on Sundays.

That would be a dangerous store for me. Such beautiful pieces of art.

I love the paperweight with the ducks. Funny, I’ve never really cared for paperweights before.
