Walking around downtown New York City, you may miss Tony Rosenthal’s “5 in 1,”35 foot Cor-Ten Steel Sculpture installed at One Police Plaza unless it’s your intention to go to Police Plaza, That said, if you are walking by the courthouse or near the Brooklyn Bridge, you can see it from the street. Also, if you are fan of Tom Selleck and Donnie Walburg’s Blue Bloods television show (I am), occasionally you will see a glimpse of it when they pan to One Police Plaza. One of the great pleasures of walking around New York City is the number of cool public art. There huge and hard to miss. I just liked the red and intertwining pieces and the juxtaposition of it’s placement in front of a “police” station which frankly is pretty ugly.

I don’t know how one would miss that.

That’s so cool! And the fact that it’s sometimes seen on TV makes me a bit star struck lol.

What a cool piece of art work. I’d love to come to NY someday and see all the other cool artsy stuff the city has to offer. Thanks for sharing!

I love public art. We have a great new free outdoor art gallery here in Seattle. My toddler can’t get enough of it!

I love discovering public art too! Just this weekend we were at a park only 15 minutes away that had the coolest sculpture. I’m new to the WW and I think I might just borrow this idea for a post next week!
