Whiteface boasts that it offers more of everything, and it really does. Sure, there is plenty of superb terrain for skiing, like the 2.1-mile long Wilmington Trail. In all, there are 283 skiable acres. However, why bother with skiing when you can bobsled or luge? It’s an experience exclusive to very few resorts, and Whiteface is one of them.
Lake Placid has other activities you won’t want to skip, too, like cross-country skiing, ice skating, and the Lake Placid Olympic Museum. If you ever get bored (which is pretty much impossible), you can venture into town. The entire town is winter sports friendly and offers plenty of fun for all ages, Ski, shop, relax, play, party…it’s all there.
