Pete’s Dragon Red Carpet Premiere
You would think that walking the Pete’s Dragon Red Carpet would be old hat by now. Ha, you would be incorrect. I loved it! It is such an exhilarating experience. I am not sure if it’s just seeing the Green Carpet (hey this is Pete’s Dragon remember) all laid out out along the famed Hollywood Boulevard leading up to the El Capitan Theatre or the fans lined up on the street but it’s all so new and fresh because you never know what will happen.
Along the Pete’s Dragon Green Carpet, there were numerous signs so it’s always entertaining in my opinion to try to get that one shot along the way into the theatre.
The Pete’s Dragon Red Carpet is just wildly (but fun) chaotic scene to see up close and personal.
One of the best experiences this trip around was seeing one of the stars of the movie take the same photo op as you do. It’s just a “they are just like us moment.” Check out Oakes Feigley who play’s Pete in the movie.
And of course my fellow NYC Blogger Kerri Gristina @SavvyMomNYC couldn’t resist taking the same photo.
And don’t love the best photo opp of night! 25 Cool Bloggers.
Meeting Celebrities at the Pre-Party
Prior to the Pete’s Dragon premiere, we headed to the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel for the pre-party. Parties are always fun especially if you get to get photos with actors attending the premiere plus take fun party photos.

Touring the El Capitan Theatre
During our trip, we had the pleasure of going on a behind the scenes tour of the famed El Capitan Theatre where the Disney movies hold their premieres.
Fun Facts about the El Capitan Theatre
- 90th Anniversary of the theater was celebrated on May 3, 2016
- From 1926-1941, there were only live shows at the theatre
- The theatre was refurbished in 1991 to it’s original look from 1926 and the opening was kicked with the premiere of The Rocketeer
- It is one of two theatres in Los Angeles with a balcony
- The organ’s name is Ethel
Stay tuned for my review this coming Friday and here’s the trailer.
