2016 Slate from Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures looks totally amazing and can’t wait to see all of them. There is something for everyone from historical films like The Finest Hours to everyone’s favorite Blue Tang Dory returning to the ultimate confrontation between Captain America and Iron Man in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War capping the year off with Lucasfilm Rogue One.

The Finest Hours ( January 29)

 

Chris Pine stars as Captain Bernie Webber in Disney's THE FINEST HOURS, the heroic action-thriller presented in Digital 3D (TM) and IMAX (c) 3D based on the extraordinary true story of the most daring rescue mission in the history of the Coast Guard.

Disney’s “The Finest Hours” is the unforgettable story of the Coast Guard’s most daring rescue mission directed by Craig Gillespie and stars Chris Pine, Casey Affleck, Ben Foster, Holliday Grainger, John Ortiz and Eric Bana.

Finding Dory  (June 17)

The BFG (July 1)

THE BFG, directed by Steven Spielberg based on the beloved novel by Roald Dahl, is the exciting tale of a young London girl (Ruby Barnhill) and the mysterious Giant (Mark Rylance) who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant Country.

Directed by Spielberg, “The BFG” tells the imaginative story of a young girl and the Giant who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant Country.

 

Pete’s Dragon  (August 12)

“Pete’s Dragon,” is a reimagining of Disney’s cherished family film. The heartwarming adventure of an orphaned boy named Pete and his best friend Elliott, who just so happens to be a dragon.

 

Queen of Katwe (Fall)

Lupita Nyong'o and Madina Nalwanga star in the triumphant true story QUEEN OF KATWE, directed by Mira Nair.

 

“Queen of Katwe,” which is based on the inspirational true story of a girl from the poverty-stricken slums of rural Uganda who dreams of becoming a champion chess player.

 

Doctor Strange (November 4)

Moana ( November 23)

In "Moana," Walt Disney Animation Studios' upcoming big-screen adventure, a spirited teenager named Moana (left) sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder. Along the way, she meets once-mighty demi-god Maui (right). Featuring Native Hawaiian newcomer Auli'i Cravalho as the voice of Moana, and Dwayne Johnson as the voice of Maui, "Moana" sails into U.S. theaters on Nov. 23, 2016. ©2015 Disney. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story  (December 16)
