While in Paris, we stayed at the Hyatt Paris Madeleine, located on a quintessentially Parisian Boulevard Malesherbes in La Madeleine in the 8th arrondissment. I loved everything about this hotel. The location of the hotel was perfect for us, as it is walking distance to all the iconic Paris attractions (Paris Opéra Garnier, Place de la Madeleine, Place de la Concorde, the River Seine, the Louvre, the Tuileries Garden, Champs-Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe) we wanted to visit.
In addition, to being close to major tourist attractions, the Hyatt Paris Madeleine is close to fashion (Rue Faubourg St. Honore for fun window shopping), jewelry shops and major department stores like Printemps and Galeries Lafayette.
The Hyatt Paris Madeleine is a beautifully designed hotel with a gorgeous lobby and has 86 beautiful Paris hotel rooms and suites. You can’t miss La Chinoiserie, the hotel’s restaurant just off the lobby area which even has a fireplace if you happen to go in the winter. What makes the room so distinct is the roof glass made in the workshops of Gustave Eiffel. Stunning!
Our standard room was spacious with two twin beds pushed together which was heavenly to sleep in (for Americans who are used to two double beds in a standard hotel room, this is the European equivalent.) The room was big enough to include a desk, a lounge chair and had big bathroom with a marble tub and a separate shower. Of course, it has the obligatory flat screen, iPod radio/alarm AND complimentary wi-fi (a huge thumbs up for me.) We even had deliciously soft robes and slippers.
I almost forgot to mention that for you forgetful folks like me, that there is a place (like a pocket) right next to the door, where you place the room key card which also turns off the the lights. No more searching for the room key. It’s at the door where you can’t miss it. My daughter loved putting the key card in every day and seeing the lights turn on.
My daughter and I had breakfast at Le Café M, which was like no breakfast buffet I have ever had. The buffet gave you the option of having petit dejeuner which is the lighter fare which includes cereal, yogurt, bread, muffins or the big breakfast as my daughter called it which includes your choice of bread and muffins plus ham, eggs, salmon, mozzarella and more. Just a delightful way to start the day. Le Café M is also open for lunch.
In the lobby area, the hotel offered these beautiful bottles filled with delicious coffee and milk for you to take a coffee to go. This totally made my day!
The hotel was renovated a few years ago by the French interior designer Pascal Desprez, and it really is beautiful decorated, just gorgeous. It was a very modern and made me feel quite sophisticated.
And finally let me say that the staff from the front desk, to the concierge to the bell man were superb, efficient and so nice. They were so helpful answering all my touristy questions, giving me new maps when mine ripped and when the printer wasn’t working so I could print my Eiffel Tower ticket, all I had to do was send them an email and they printed it (the printer was not working that day.) I can not tell you what a lifesaver that was otherwise, we would not have been able to get able to go to the Summit.
If you are visiting Paris, I wholeheartedly recommend The Hyatt Paris Madeleine for your stay for the staff, the beautifully decorated rooms and hotel and the location. I definitely will be going back. P.S. don’t forget to get your Hyatt points.
