Portofino Bay Hotel is one of Universal Orlando’s amazing and beautiful properties. Not only does the property remind you of the Portofino Bay with it’s beautifully designed palazzo and bay but is also walking distance from Universal Orlando parks and CityWalk.
11 Reasons to Stay at Portofino Bay Hotel
1. Travel to Italy without leaving the country – I have been to Portofino and the Portofino Bay Hotel captures the spirit and look of the seaside Italian riviera coast town with it’s cobblestone streets, water fountains, signs, courtyards and Italian sports cars and Vespas parked by the harbor.
2. Elegantly decorated, nice- sized room and deliciously comfortable beds with 300-thread-count and 100% cotton bed linens. There were four people in our room in two queen sized beds along with a desk and chair/ottoman and we had plenty of room.
3. FREE Universal ExpressSM Unlimited ride access to both Universal Orlando® theme parks – a benefit worth up to $89 per person, per day. I can not tell you the value this offers you and your family to skip the regular lines of popular rides like Rocket Ride and Transformers.
4. Early Park Admission† to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™, one hour before the parks open. Getting to the park by 8am may sound painful but the flip side is that you will avoid 2 hours+ wait times for Wizarding World of Harry Potter rides.
5. Free Wi-Fi – Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in each guest room and most common areas of the hotel.
6. Keurig coffeemakers featuring Emeril’s gourmet coffee and assorted teas.
7. Resort Kids’ Camp – Want to enjoy a night out or aquiet dinner, the hotel kid’s camp offersarts & crafts, stories, computers, video games, movies, board games and other activities. Kid’s Camps are for children ages 4-14 for $15 per hour, per child / $15 per meal.
8. Three Themed Swimming Pools – Families can enjoy the Beach Pool with its Roman aqueduct themed water-slide, a sandy beach and adjacent children’s pool, two hot tubs and three colorful beach cabanas. The Villa Pool and Hillside Pool offers quieter options.
9. Free water taxis to Universal theme parks and Universal CityWalk®.
10. Complimentary delivery of merchandise purchased throughout the resort to your on-site hotel room.
11. Starbucks – I can not tell you how happy that there was a Starbucks on sight. Not just for the coffee but that it was the only place to pick up a quick breakfast before catching the early morning water taxi to the park.
I will say that I really enjoyed staying at the Portofino Bay Hotel but couple of improvements I would recommend. I wasn’t happy that the refrigerator was filled with paid items and left no space to even add milk for coffee or fruit. Ugh!! Love the Keurig but I like milk in my coffee. And the lack of breakfast options. There is the breakfast buffett (too expensive for families with little kids) and Starbucks.
