The Lion King musical is now in it’s 15th year on Broadway. This December there is a new exhibit called “Inside the Lion King.” I had an opportunity to view the exhibit and it’s spectacular to be able to see the intricate design and detail of the hand-made puppets, artisan costumes and sculpted masks from the show. It’s too bad that it’s only on display until December 16, 2012. But given the $500,000 cost of the exhibit, I can see why it’s only on display for such a short time. The exhibit ends December 16 so if you are in New York City during that time and near Bryant Park, it’s worth a visit and best of all it’s free.
Disclosure: NYC Single Mom was not compensated for this post, I am just a fan of The Lion King musical.

That just made me feel old. I remember going to see the Lion King in the theater. Now it is in a museum.

Oh how I wish I could go to that exhibit. It looks awesome. Unfortunately we are several hours away from NYC. Too bad I don’t still live in Queens. Stuff like this I miss now that we live out in the country.
Anyhow, didn’t realize it was in its 15th year either. Wow!
Thanks for sharing. And thanks for the linky
