Such a MacGyver moment in our household. Sometimes, I am fascinated my daughter’s ingenuity and creativity in solving problems.
A few days ago, she insisted that her finger was broken. I was pretty sure it was not given she could still move it and it wasn’t swollen. I think she just banged it into something which is why she felt some pain.
Of course, I muttered on about making a doctor’s appointment while she went on off, I thought to play. Wrong. Next thing I know she has gotten out the first aid kit and the emery boards and made a splint for her “broken” pinky. How is she knew how do that is beyond me. Was it from iCarly episode I missed, who knows.
I did not stop her when she insisted on wearing it to school which seemed nutty since the edges of the emery board looked a tad sharp but oh well. (yes, bad mommy moment but we must pick and choose our battles.)
Sadly, she made the mistake of going to the school nurse and asking for more tape to keep her “splint” in place. Big Mistake!!, The mean (and she is mean) told her to take it off immediately and not in a nice way.
When my daughter came home, she was a little sad, but went on made another “splint” for her pinky. And for the record, the pinky is better but I need to get more band-aids and emery boards.

LOL! That’s great she did that…you also know there are some readers that probably don’t know who MacGyver is….

Kids these days. Gotta love the effort though. Personally growing up i used popsicle sticks. I swear the popsicle made the finger feel better. After i ate it that is.

Ouch a broken finger, I know that feeling, I broke my pinky finger a couple years ago! This would have been good info back then, lol.
